Often Misapplied Bible Verses
What do they really mean?
You’ve often heard these verses quoted or ideas expressed. Read each passage and before doing anything else, ask yourself what do you think of when you these verses?
Now open your Bible to the passage and start reading about 20 verses before and after it. What is the actual context? Is there more to the statement? To whom is this passage written? Specific people or all people? Is it descriptive or prescriptive?
For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. – Jeremiah 29:11
